For a final project, I found this assignment very practical. It's very helpful to have a close up video for demos because sometimes students may not have a good opportunity to see the demo the first time around (I have been in this spot before!).

Filming this video came together much quicker than I thought it would, editing and voicing over became more of an issue with this project. I wanted to sound natural so I did not write a script, but I ended up having trouble figuring out a proper explanation on the spot. As a result, I had to rerecord different parts of the video several times. I think this is good that I experienced this in that I know that I should probably at least write a loose script if I were to make another video.

This project also made me realized how much yet how little information I can fit in a 6 minute video. I had to export and speed up the painting process of the video a couple of times in order to make it fit within the limit. I considered just leaving out the last part entirely, but I had thought I already filmed it and could still talk about different techniques so I left it in.

While not necessarily difficult, captioning my video was still tedious. I probably took at least an hour or so just doing that (again another benefit of having a script is that I can just copy and paste into the subtitle conversion program I used).

I do enjoy the idea that once I have a video recorded, I can reuse it as much as I see fit in the classroom.
