If your into watching livestreams like me, you might want to check this out! This article talks about how a couple of teachers are using Twitch as an innovative way to engage students in class. I think this is a super neat idea (specifically the part about having a virtual class mascot); what are your thoughts?

aww i think it’s a great idea. hopefully online learning doesn’t have to last too much longer for most students, but i love how teachers are making the most of this experience and ensuring kids have some kinds of comforts during such a stressful time in their lives.
This is a really good idea! It'll be better for younger people because they're more in touch with Twitch than Zoom! It'll also make learning more interactive!
This is a cool idea! I find myself getting really burnt out by zoom and the format is sometimes really rigid. It’s interesting to see teachers implementing other options to keep lessons more fun and engaging :)
Implementing a stream-like element such as Twitch to the classroom sounds like a wonderful idea. Since Zoom has a very formal atmosphere, having a Twitch familiar form could help give a more comfortable atmosphere closer to that of being in the physical classroom. I enjoy the idea of Cheung's waiting room, background music, and on-screen pet. It really helps create the fun and comfortable atmosphere. By giving the students something familiar and fun, it would most likely allow for better attention and interaction with the lesson. I would say this is an interesting approach worth trying for younger kids and teens.
This sounds like a very interesting new method of teaching for younger age groups online! I myself, have never used Twitch but it sounds like it gives a much better variety to communicate with a non-verbal audience than Zoom does. Seems like a very engaging setting and certainly worth a try if most teachers feel like their engagement from students in class is currently low.
